A unique and minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses exfoliating crystals to rejuvenate the skin. These crystals engage with the outer layer of the facial skin directly, requiring little to no scrubbing, cutting, or burning.
There are many subtle ways the face can lose its natural beauty. Whether it’s due to age, sun damage, or just the loss of your face’s natural glow, you may no longer be happy with the appearance of your face, but you are unsure what you can do to help it. Microdermabrasion may be the procedure for you. With its focus on gently exfoliating the surface of the skin, microdermabrasion is the easiest way to improve the color, complexion, and texture of your face.
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that takes advantage of the exfoliating properties of certain crystals; fine particles of sodium bicarbonate or aluminum oxide. These exfoliating crystals are applied onto the skin with a small suction or vacuum device. This procedure also stimulates the face’s natural elastin and collagen production.
They can help patients who suffer a variety of facial skin conditions, including sun damage, acne scars, enlarged pores, wrinkles and fine lines, age spots, dull skin, and more.
The ideal candidate for this procedure is someone with relatively healthy facial skin, with minor or common facial imperfections, such as acne scars. However, microdermabrasion may not be the ideal procedure for everyone. If you are suffering deep wrinkles, sagging skin, or other major facial issues, microdermabrasion can do little to help your condition.
During the procedure, the patient will be asked to sat in a chair while the doctor sprays the crystals onto the face, targeting certain areas. After the procedure, patients can expect mild temporary side effects including redness, swelling and mild tenderness. In some cases, there might be light bruising caused by the suction of the device.
There will be immediate results afterwards, but patients need to practice proper aftercare practices. Keep your skin moisturized for best results, and avoid any acne medications for 1-2 days after the procedure. You will also feel that your skin is more sensitive to the sun, so try to limit sun contact or wear sunscreen.
Dr. D' Alessio and her staff are top notch in every way, a rarity in medical offices. Dr. D'Alessio is truly amazing and I am more than thrilled with my experience in the office and the work she did to balance imperfections on my face. I was a long time patient and close friend of NJ's top dermatologist until he died 5 years ago, I never thought I'd find anyone as talented again. I will be using as many services as I can in this office!
Got the sculpsure procedure done today and the service was amazing! I felt very relaxed and Dr. D’ Alessio was very informative about what I should expect during the process. Anyone looking to get any of the services done here I will definitely recommend. I drove all the way from Brooklyn, NY that’s how much I recommend it!!!
