What Makes It Special:

Botox uses a natural protein called botulinum toxin. This is introduced to the body to relax muscles that cause unsightly wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, mouth, and cheeks. Undergoing a botox treatment means removing the wrinkles, and the very reason why they happen.

Before & After

Botox FAQ

What Is Botox?

Botox is a non-invasive medspa treatment designed to lift your face, without the hassle of surgery. Botox works at the neural level by targeting the very nerves responsible for adding creases on your skin.

When injected, targeted muscles are temporarily paralyzed, which prevents the skin from forming the dreaded creases. The formulation we use is especially created for cosmetic purposes, which relaxes the muscles and improves the skin’s appearance, which only gets better with time.

Who Is A Candidate?

Skin care products don’t always do what you want. More often than not, we find that it’s a little too late for creams and pills to make a significant difference on our skin. Botox gives the gift of good genes, in just a few sessions.

Botox is perfect for both male and female patients who are looking to erase their facial lines, both mild and severe. Pregnant patients, mothers who are breastfeeding, or patients under the age of 18 are not recommended to get Botox.

How does Botox reduce wrinkles?

To reduce wrinkles, Botox is injected into the facial muscles that are creating fine lines and creases.

Wrinkles develop as a natural part of the aging process because of several factors, such as:

  • Dryer and thinner skin
  • Decreased fat layers and elasticity
  • Repeated use of facial muscles
  • Loss of collagen and elastin fibers

Exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet light also accelerates the deterioration of your skin.

As your skin ages, the natural lines and creases that form in your face grow deeper and more permanent. When Botox is injected into the facial muscles causing your wrinkles, the muscles relax to create a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Botox is the only FDA-approved product to temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet at the corners of your eyes.

What can I expect during my appointment?

Your Botox treatment only takes a few minutes. Dr. D’Alessio uses a small needle for the Botox injections, so you shouldn’t experience much discomfort. Depending on your sensitivity at the injection site, she might numb the area with anesthetic cream before your treatment.

Initial results from Botox are seen within a few days of your appointment as your facial muscles begin relaxing. Within a week, fewer fine lines, wrinkles, and creases will be noticeable in the area.

Since Botox is a temporary cosmetic solution, you’ll see results for three to six months following your treatment. You can expect longer-lasting benefits with regular Botox treatments.

How does Botox help to relieve migraines?

At Montville Medspa & Pain Center, Dr. D’Alessio uses Botox to treat chronic migraine pain. While most migraine medications treat symptoms and mask pain, Botox is the first and only FDA-approved treatment for preventing chronic migraines.

Botox is a pharmaceutical injection used to relax muscles by targeting your nervous system. When used to treat chronic migraines, Botox reduces the activity of specific pain nerve pathways associated with the trigeminovascular system.

Regular Botox treatments can prevent approximately eight or nine headache days each month.

Dr. D' Alessio and her staff are top notch in every way, a rarity in medical offices. Dr. D'Alessio is truly amazing and I am more than thrilled with my experience in the office and the work she did to balance imperfections on my face. I was a long time patient and close friend of NJ's top dermatologist until he died 5 years ago, I never thought I'd find anyone as talented again. I will be using as many services as I can in this office!
