Volume, skin or lift?
Ask three people what they want from “filler” and you may hear three different answers. One wants fuller cheeks or lips, another wants skin that looks smoother and less tired, and a third wants a jawline that has started to soften to look firmer again. Those are different problems, and at Montville MedSpa & Pain Center they are matched to different injectables.
Four tools, four jobs
- Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume and shape. Gels such as Juvéderm Voluma XC for the cheeks, Volux XC for the chin and jawline, and Ultra Plus XC or Vollure XC for folds restore contour where it has been lost. The change shows straight away, and the gel can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if a correction is ever needed.
- SKINVIVE improves the skin itself. Also made of hyaluronic acid, it is placed as tiny microdroplets just under the surface, spread across the cheeks. The FDA approved it in 2023 to improve the smoothness of cheek skin in adults over 21; it brings a glow, not a new shape.
- Sculptra and hyperdilute Radiesse rebuild collagen. Instead of filling a space, they prompt your body to make its own collagen, so the improvement builds gradually. Hyperdilute Radiesse is also approved for wrinkles of the décolleté.
- PDO threads lift. Dissolvable polydioxanone threads placed under the skin give support where the cheeks, jowls or neck have loosened, and stimulate collagen as they are absorbed.
Many plans use more than one, and Botox or Dysport takes care of a fifth job: lines caused by movement.
How the choice is made
The consultation is a private conversation about your goals and medical history, followed by a careful look at your facial anatomy; high-resolution photos may be taken to record where you are starting from. Injectables here are led by Dr. Donna D’Alessio, MD. Nurse practitioner Amy Natalicchio came to injectables from cosmetic dermatology and has trained with Allergan, Merz and Galderma, and Tanya Santoro brings a background in emergency medicine, cardiology and primary care.
Boonton Township patients ask
Is SKINVIVE a filler? It is an injectable hyaluronic acid, but it sits shallow and is spread evenly to smooth the skin rather than change its shape. The manufacturer reports results that can last up to six months, with an optional touch-up.
Is everything you use FDA-approved? Yes. The practice uses clinically proven, FDA-approved products only, with nothing experimental.
How do I get here? Powerville Road and Rockaway Valley Road lead toward Montville, where the road carries on as Taylortown Road to its end at Main Road. A left turn brings you to our office at 624, roughly 15 minutes from the middle of the township without traffic.
When are you open? Weekdays from 9, or 10 on Tuesdays, closing at 5 except for Tuesday at 7 and Friday at 4; Saturdays from 9 to 1.
