A neighbor, not a subscription
Parsippany-Troy Hills borders Montville Township, so physician-led hormone therapy is about eight miles away — around 11 minutes without traffic up I-287 and then Route 202 to our office at 624 Main Road in Towaco. Being close matters more for hormones than for most treatments, because a good plan means coming back: for labs, for a review, for a dose that needs moving.
Could it be your hormones?
For women — estrogen and progesterone therapy may be worth discussing if you notice:
- night sweats or hot flashes breaking up your sleep
- concentration and patience both wearing thin
- weight shifting even though your habits have not
- any of this during perimenopause, menopause or the years after
For men — testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) may be worth discussing if you notice:
- stamina fading well before the day is over
- muscle tone falling away despite regular training
- lower libido and less drive
- irritability or low mood that feels out of character
Symptoms alone never decide it. Lab testing comes first for everyone, and testosterone therapy is considered only for men whose labs confirm a low level. Not sure where you stand? The 30-second hormone quiz is a quick place to start.
What being on a plan looks like
Every hormone plan here is overseen by Dr. D’Alessio, who is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and sees patients in the office. Treatment comes either as an injection or as a cream or gel applied to the skin, whichever fits your routine better. Repeat labs and follow-up visits keep the dose in step with your levels as they change.
In the first weeks some people notice mild bloating, breast tenderness, breakouts, fluid retention or a reaction where an injection went in; these tend to ease as the dose is fine-tuned. It is also not for everyone. A personal or family history of hormone-sensitive cancer, blood clots or certain cardiovascular conditions may make it unsuitable, which is why your history is taken before anything is prescribed.
Questions from Parsippany
Do I have to stay on it for life? No. Some patients use it through one stage, such as menopause, and then taper off; others carry on long term. Your plan is reviewed regularly, and the decision stays yours.
Are hormones and weight connected? They can be. Weight that refuses to move is often more than one problem, which is why medically supervised weight-loss injections are offered alongside hormone care here.
Can I fit visits around a commute? We stay open until 7 pm on Tuesdays and see patients on Saturday mornings from 9 to 1. Read more about physician-led hormone therapy at Montville.

Shannon from the MedSpa is absolutely amazing! She took the time to really understand my skin and helped me figure out exactly what it needs. She recommended products that feel incredible on my skin and made the whole experience feel personalized. The room was so relaxing, and everything about the appointment was perfect. I’m someone who usually pushes off getting facials, but after finally getting one done, it was 100% worth it. Overall a 10/10 experience!
