Next door, for a treatment that needs follow-up
Parsippany-Troy Hills shares a border with Montville Township, which puts our office at 624 Main Road in Towaco about eight miles from Parsippany, around 11 minutes without traffic by I-287 and Route 202. That distance matters with weight-loss medication, because a good plan is not a single prescription. It is a run of check-ins where the dose and the plan are adjusted to how you are getting on.
Semaglutide or tirzepatide?
We offer both, and the right choice depends on you rather than on a headline.
- How they work. Semaglutide copies one gut hormone, GLP-1. Tirzepatide acts on GLP-1 and on a second hormone receptor, GIP.
- How they are taken. Each is injected under the skin once a week, usually in the stomach, thigh or upper arm, beginning low and increasing in steps.
- Side effects. Very similar for the two: mostly nausea, diarrhea, constipation or vomiting, typically while the dose is going up.
- One practical difference. Tirzepatide can make birth control pills less effective, particularly after starting and after each increase, so tell us if you take them.
When your provider helps you decide, they weigh your goals, your medical history (including diabetes, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease and kidney function), the other medicines you take, and how you got on with either drug in the past.
Getting ready for your consultation
Bring along:
- a list of every medication and supplement you take
- any recent bloodwork you have
- an idea of what you are aiming for, whether that is a target weight, a health marker your doctor raised, or simply feeling in charge of your appetite again
At the visit our medical professionals review your health and history, decide whether a weight-loss injection suits you, and if it does, build a plan covering the medication and dosage, dietary recommendations and exercise guidance.
Is it right for you?
Injections are generally suited to adults whose BMI indicates overweight or obesity, who have struggled to lose weight through diet and exercise, and who are ready to commit to a healthier routine. They are not for everyone; certain medical conditions, or an allergy to the medication’s components, can rule them out.
Questions from Parsippany
Can I switch from one medication to the other? Sometimes, if one is not working well or is hard to tolerate, but only under your provider’s guidance, since they set the new starting dose and the timing.
Could hormones be part of the picture? They can be. We also offer hormone replacement therapy for men and women, and your consultation is a good moment to raise it.
Do you have evening or weekend hours? Yes, until 7 pm on Tuesdays, and from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.

What Our Patients Say About Us
★★★★★
We drive over 50+ miles to come see Kristen, particularly. I can’t say enough good things about her, the results, and the experience she makes when we come into this spa. Thank you for always going the extra mile for my two daughters and making us feel like we are at home away from home after having such a long drive. Definitely worth the money and the trip! The staff is also always very friendly, allowing me to switch appointments when I need to, and they are always so kind when I call. I am a picky customer, it is hard to make me happy. Definitely recommend this MedSpa!
