For the men and women of Pequannock and Pompton Plains
Hormone replacement therapy here treats both sexes. Men whose testosterone has dropped are treated with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT); women are treated with estrogen and progesterone therapy. Montville Township was split off from Pequannock back in 1867, and the two are still close neighbors: from the middle of the township it is about five miles to our office, roughly nine minutes without traffic, heading south on Jacksonville Road to Main Road in Towaco.
It is not “just getting older”
Hormonal change gets blamed on age and left alone far too often. Yet the symptoms are specific, and they can be measured.
- Women often describe hot flashes, night sweats and broken sleep, together with fatigue, mood changes, shifting weight and a lower libido. Care continues through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause.
- Men with low testosterone tend to notice fatigue, shrinking muscle, a low sex drive, irritability and brain fog.
- Anyone who recognizes several of these is a candidate for testing. Testing is the next step, not a prescription.
Who looks after your plan
Every hormone plan is overseen by Dr. Donna D’Alessio, MD, who founded the practice and is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Nurse practitioner Tanya Santoro, NP-C specializes in hormone replacement therapy, with a particular focus on testosterone, and brings a clinical background in emergency medicine, cardiology and primary care. Both see patients face to face in Towaco.
Your first visit
You start by telling us what has changed — sleep, energy, weight, mood, sex drive — and giving a full health history. Hormone levels are tested before anything is decided. If treatment suits you, you choose between an injection and a cream or gel, and repeat labs follow so the dose can move when your levels do.
Pequannock patients ask
Is this a telehealth service? No. You are seen in person in our Towaco office, your history is taken in the room, and the physician overseeing your plan is the one who owns the practice.
Do you mainly treat women? Men and women are treated under the same rules: lab work first, physician-overseen dosing and follow-up testing.
Is there a quick way to see whether my symptoms fit? The 30-second hormone quiz is a simple first step before you book.
Can I come on a Saturday? Yes. We see patients on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.

I recently had a Moxi and BBL laser treatment with Shannon, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, Shannon was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. She took the time to explain exactly what to expect during the treatment and provided thorough aftercare instructions to ensure I get the best results.
