Not one filler, several
Ask for “filler” and it is easy to picture a single product. In practice the result depends on picking the right gel for the job, because each one is made to behave differently under the skin. Most of what we use is FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar your skin already makes, which holds water and plumps from within.
- Juvéderm, for volume that time has taken. A family with a gel for each area: Volbella XC and Ultra XC in the lips, Vollure XC and Ultra Plus XC for lines and folds, Voluma XC in the cheeks and Volux XC along the chin and jaw.
- Revanesse Versa, for lines that move. The first HA filler FDA-approved for dynamic wrinkles and folds, it also plumps fine lines and lips.
- RHA, for the busiest parts of the face. A resilient gel pliable enough to flex with every expression, which suits areas in constant motion.
- Sculptra and hyperdilute Radiesse, for gradual change. These biostimulators help your body rebuild collagen over time instead of adding volume on the day.
Which belongs where is decided at your consultation, once your provider has studied how your face is built and where it has lost volume.
From downtown Boonton
The interstate is the quick way. Pick up I-287 north from Myrtle Avenue and leave at Exit 47 for Route 202; from there it is a mile and a half along Main Road to our office in Towaco. From downtown Boonton the whole trip takes under ten minutes without traffic, and a follow-up visit to check how the gel has settled is just as short.
Keeping it looking right
The body breaks HA down gradually, so results are maintained rather than permanent. A common rhythm is a fine-tuning visit every four to six months and a full touch-up every nine to twelve, with the under-eye area seen every six to twelve. Lips use filler up faster; cheeks and the jaw hold it longer. HA can also prompt new collagen in the surrounding tissue, which helps skin quality even as the gel itself fades.
Boonton patients ask
What are the risks? Swelling, redness, bruising or tenderness usually pass within a few days, and any unevenness while the gel settles can be corrected at a follow-up. Rarer risks include infection, lumps and vascular complications. Treatment is supervised by Dr. Donna D’Alessio, MD, who is trained in facial anatomy and vascular safety, and HA can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if a correction is needed.
I get cold sores. Does that matter? Mention it at your consultation, because a cold sore flare-up is one of the known risks of filler.
Who does the injecting? Dr. D’Alessio and nurse practitioners Amy Natalicchio, trained by Allergan, Merz and Galderma, and Tanya Santoro, who work to the standard she sets.
Can filler be combined with a facial? Yes. Exfoliating, hydrating treatments such as HydraFacial give filler an even, luminous surface to show on, and Botox or Dysport deal with the lines that movement causes.

What Our Patients Say About Us
★★★★★
I have been to see Dr. D'Alessio over the past 5 years. I especially drive for over an hour, she and her whole office are simply the BEST! She has done my leg veins, Botox and now I see her for my GLP weight loss treatments, she is truly AMAZING and CARING! She will work with your insurance and help you find the best course of treatment to bring the cost down, if possible. She is always conservative, attentive, kind and has so much patience when listening to your exact needs. I would never go anywhere else. I trust her and her staff fully!
