What hyaluronic acid does once it is placed

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar your skin already makes, and it holds water like a sponge. Once injected, the gel blends into the surrounding soft tissue, putting back the cushion and contour that time has worn down, while drawing in moisture for a gentle plumping of the skin above it. HA fillers have also been shown to stimulate some collagen as they interact with nearby tissue, which helps skin quality and elasticity even as the filler itself is slowly absorbed.

Filler treatment here is led by Dr. Donna D’Alessio, MD, board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Nurse practitioner Amy Natalicchio has trained with Allergan, Merz and Galderma, three of the largest makers of neurotoxins and fillers, and studies how your face moves and where it has lost volume before she recommends a single syringe.
