Six minutes from Lincoln Park, on the road you already use
Route 202 is Lincoln Park’s main highway, and it is also our street. From the middle of the borough it is a little under three miles west into Towaco — about six minutes without traffic — to Montville MedSpa & Pain Center at 624 Main Road. Lincoln Park and Montville Township share a border, so a Botox appointment fits easily into an ordinary errand day.
What a wrinkle relaxer actually does
Forehead lines, the creases between the brows and crow’s feet are dynamic wrinkles: they are etched by the same expressions you make over and over. Botox and Dysport, both botulinum toxin type A, interrupt the signal a nerve sends to a targeted muscle — technically, they block the release of acetylcholine where nerve meets muscle. That muscle relaxes, the skin over it smooths, and the rest of your face carries on moving normally.
None of it is permanent. Your body breaks the product down over the following months and muscle function comes back, which is exactly why neurotoxin is one of the most controllable treatments in aesthetic medicine. The injector team is led by Dr. Donna D’Alessio, MD, board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, a specialty rooted in how nerves and muscles work together.
How long it lasts, and why it can last longer
- Days 3 to 5: the first softening shows.
- Days 10 to 14: the full effect has settled in.
- Months 3 to 4: movement gradually returns for most people, sooner or later depending on the area, the product and your metabolism.
- With regular treatment: many patients find their results stretch further, because muscles that are relaxed again and again get used to resting.
Rather than topping up early, plan on at least three months between touch-ups.
Is it right for you?
Neurotoxin suits adults aged 18 and older, in good general health, who are bothered by expression lines or want to keep them from setting in deeper, and who would like a quick treatment with no real downtime. Your consultation reviews your history for anything that would rule it out.
Lincoln Park patients ask
Does it hurt? Most people describe a brief pinch from a very fine needle, and little or no anesthetic is usually needed.
What are the risks? Mild redness, swelling or a small bruise at the injection points, which usually clears within hours to a few days, and sometimes a headache or a heavy feeling for a day or two. Rarely, product that drifts can cause a slight eyelid or brow droop — the reason precise placement matters.
Can I come in after work? Tuesday is our late day, with appointments until 7 pm, and Saturday mornings run from 9 to 1.
