For the men and the women of Wayne
Hormone therapy at Montville MedSpa & Pain Center is for men and for women alike. Men come to us about low testosterone; women come about perimenopause, menopause and the years that follow. Whichever describes you, the trip from Wayne is short: follow Route 202 north through Lincoln Park and it brings you to 624 Main Road in Towaco, about six miles and roughly 12 minutes with light traffic.
The clinicians behind your plan
Dr. Donna D’Alessio, MD owns the practice, is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and oversees every hormone plan written here. Nurse practitioner Tanya Santoro, NP-C brings more than ten years as a nurse practitioner and specialized expertise in hormone replacement therapy, with a particular focus on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). You meet them in the office rather than through a chat window.
Signs worth a conversation
Men — testosterone replacement therapy may be worth asking about if you notice:
- stamina that is gone well before dinner
- muscle falling away even though you still train
- a lower sex drive and reduced performance
- brain fog, a short fuse or a flat mood
Women — estrogen and progesterone therapy may be worth asking about if you notice:
- hot flashes or night sweats that wake you
- tiredness and foggy thinking that rest does not fix
- anxiety, irritability or mood swings that feel hormonal
- lower libido, or weight and muscle tone changing for no clear reason
A list of symptoms is never enough on its own. Men are offered testosterone only after lab testing confirms it is low, and every woman’s plan begins with blood work and a full health history too.
Why an office instead of an app
Many online hormone programs amount to a questionnaire, perhaps a brief video call, and a prescriber you will never meet. Here your history is taken face to face, and your dose is set from your own numbers. You can choose an injection or a cream or gel for the skin, depending on your routine. Repeat labs and in-person reviews follow, so the plan changes when your levels do. And since the same practice also treats pain, veins and aesthetic concerns, your hormone care does not happen in isolation from the rest of your health.
Wayne patients ask
Is this only for menopause? No. Women are treated through perimenopause, menopause and beyond, and men with lab-confirmed low testosterone are treated here with TRT.
Who should not have hormone therapy? A personal or family history of hormone-sensitive cancers, blood clots or certain cardiovascular conditions may rule it out. That is why your history and labs are reviewed before anything is prescribed.
How quickly does it work? Energy, mood and sleep often begin to improve within two to four weeks; libido, body composition and mental clarity usually take two to three months.
When can I come in from Wayne? We see patients Monday to Friday, stay open until 7 pm on Tuesdays, and open again on Saturday mornings from 9 to 1.
