Where a lot of MedSpa plans begin

Not everyone who comes to Montville MedSpa & Pain Center is after an injection or a laser. Plenty of people start with a facial, and our licensed medical estheticians use that first appointment to read the skin: its type, what it is doing now, and what you would like it to do. The menu is wider than most people expect.

Choosing your facial

• Regular facial — cleansing, extractions and moisturizing for every skin type, with steamed towels and a relaxing massage; the natural first booking.
• Bro Facial — made for the thicker skin most men have, with steam, a deep brushing exfoliation and extractions aimed at clogged pores.
• Teen facial — fruit enzymes that exfoliate gently without drying, careful extractions and a cooling aloe gel for young, breakout-prone skin.
• Pumpkin peel facial — pumpkin enzymes resurface the skin; a slight warmth or tingle when the peel goes on is common and fades as it works.
• Anti-aging collagen facial — collagen-rich products for mature skin, which can be paired with microcurrent, ultrasonic infusion or light therapy, with no downtime.
• Back facial — diamond-tipped microdermabrasion, extractions and a custom mask for skin you cannot reach yourself, useful when workouts leave the back congested.
• Montville Facial — fully customizable, with the extractions, peels and masks chosen for your skin on the day.

The HydraFacial, the acne facial with blue light and the PRP vampire facial round out the list.

After a peel

The pumpkin peel comes with a few simple rules. Keep makeup and other products off your face for at least six hours, avoid scrubs and other abrasive products for 72 hours, and stay out of direct sun and heat for up to 48 hours. Hold off on waxing and other facial treatments for 48 hours as well, and keep wearing sunscreen every day.

When a facial is not enough

Some concerns sit deeper than a facial reaches. Texture and acne scarring may call for microneedling, sun damage for one of our laser treatments, and lost volume for injectables. Because the estheticians work inside the same physician-led practice as the injectors, a plan can move from one step to the next in a sensible order. Kristen Marucci has more than 20 years as a skincare specialist, and Shannon Glinsky has also worked in plastic surgery offices.

How do I get there from Fairfield? Hollywood Avenue, Horseneck Road and then Pine Brook Road bring you up into Towaco, where Whitehall Road links you to Main Road and our office at 624. It takes about 13 minutes without traffic.

Do you offer waxing? Yes. Kristen waxes the face and body, eyebrow shaping included.

Can I book on a weekend? Saturdays, from 9 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon.
