The part of the plan that moves
Every weight-loss injection plan at Montville MedSpa & Pain Center has a medicine in it and several things beside it. After a consultation in which our medical professionals go through your health, your goals and your medical history, the plan sets out semaglutide or tirzepatide and its dose alongside dietary recommendations, exercise guidance and regular check-ins. This page is about the exercise guidance, because it is the piece people are most tempted to skip.
Why activity earns its place
- Muscle. Part of the weight lost by any method is lean tissue. Strength or resistance work, together with protein at each meal, helps you hold on to muscle while the scale moves.
- How the medicines were studied. The published trials behind both paired them with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity, so movement is part of the picture the results came from.
- Digestion. Staying active, along with water and fiber added gradually, is part of the practice’s advice for the constipation some people notice.
- The long run. These medicines work while you take them, and many people regain weight after stopping, so the routines you build now are what carry on if the dose ever changes.
Starting from where you are
Nobody expects you to go from the couch to a gym in week one. A gentle beginning usually looks something like this:
- Walk most days, for whatever distance feels manageable. Little Falls has stretches of the old Morris Canal, some now a greenway, close to home.
- Add some strength work through the week, using body weight, bands or light weights.
- Keep water within reach, because a smaller appetite often means drinking less, and an active day makes that easier to miss.
- Guard your sleep, since short nights make hunger and cravings harder to manage.
What the check-ins cover
At each check-in your provider asks how your appetite has changed, how you are tolerating the medication and how the routine is going, then adjusts the dose, the eating advice or the exercise guidance to suit. Very little urine, dizziness or extreme thirst can point to dehydration, especially alongside vomiting or diarrhea, and is a reason to call promptly rather than wait for the next visit.
The two medicines in brief
Semaglutide copies GLP-1, a hormone the gut releases after eating, and tirzepatide acts on GLP-1 and on a second receptor, GIP. Each is a single injection under the skin once a week, begun at a low dose that is raised in steps. A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2 rules both out, and so does pregnancy.
Getting here
Take Route 23 north out of Little Falls, cross over to Route 202 on Mountainview Boulevard, and follow it through Lincoln Park to 624 Main Road in Towaco. Around 14 minutes without traffic keeps every check-in easy to reach.
Little Falls patients ask
Do I need a gym membership? No. Walking and simple strength work at home count, and your guidance is matched to where you are starting.
How much will I lose? Nobody can honestly promise a number; results vary widely from one person to the next.
When can I come in? Weekdays, with Tuesdays running until 7 pm, and Saturday mornings from 9 to 1.
For the early weeks in detail, read your first 3 months on semaglutide; for how a plan is built, see the weight-loss injections page.

What Our Patients Say About Us
★★★★★
Shannon from the MedSpa is absolutely amazing! She took the time to really understand my skin and helped me figure out exactly what it needs. She recommended products that feel incredible on my skin and made the whole experience feel personalized. The room was so relaxing, and everything about the appointment was perfect. I’m someone who usually pushes off getting facials, but after finally getting one done, it was 100% worth it. Overall a 10/10 experience!
